Department of English
Indiana University, Bloomington

I write and teach about eighteenth-century British and Anglophone literatures, the environmental humanities, the relationship between capitalism and colonialism, and the role of aesthetics and literary form in mass culture.

I am currently an Assistant Professor of English at Indiana University, Bloomington. Before coming to Indiana, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Society of Fellows in the Humanities at Columbia University, as well as an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Rice University Humanities Research Center, where I was a core participant in the yearlong seminar "Waste: Histories and Futures." I completed my PhD in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Chicago.
